Javert is an original musical retelling of Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables.
The 1862 novel Les Misérables is over 1,200 pages long. Of these, just a single page is devoted to the backstory of its chief antagonist, Inspector Javert.
Javert reimagines Hugo's world, granting this beloved Inspector the one thing his world denied him: mercy.
